Calgary, known as the Heart of the New West, is an energetic city located just three hours by car from Edmonton and less than an hour away from the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Surrounded by the rolling foothills, expansive prairies and dramatic badlands of the Canadian West, a visit to Calgary is a sure bet for stunning views and a great mix of city slicker chic with a country and western twist!

Day 1 - Arrive Edmonton
Arrive Edmonton and pick up your car rental on arrival. Drive to your overnight accommodation in downtown Edmonton. Remainder of the day to relax and adjust to your surroundings. Overnight Edmonton.
Day 2 - Explore the city
Spend today getting to know Edmonton and area. Explore the downtown area of the city and view the thriving capital city of Alberta first hand. (City tour included during July & August) Later visit the area of Old Strathcona, a popular bohemian style area of Edmonton that attracts students, tourist and locals alike for its array of antique, gift and bookstores, restaurants and bars. Overnight Edmonton.
Day 3 - Shop till you drop! (West Edmonton Mall)
Put on comfortable shoes and pack your swimsuit! Today you will visit the famous West Edmonton Mall, the largest Shopping & Entertainment Complex in the World! You'll need at least a full day to visit some of the 800 stores and services in the mall and enjoy the attractions on site. Your Choice Pass allows entry to either the World Waterpark or Galaxyland, or two of the following: Professor WEM's Adventure Golf, Putt n' Glow, Ice Palace or Marine Life (including Sea Life Caverns and Sea Lions' Rock). Overnight Edmonton.
Day 4 - Edmonton/Calgary
This morning depart Edmonton early and drive the Queen Elizabeth II highway to the city of Calgary. Known as the Heart of the New West, Calgary and energetic city located at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Initially a fort in 1875 for the North West Mounted Police, Calgary quickly became a busy trading hub and is now known to be a hub for national and international businesses. This evening enjoy the wonderful Jubilations Dinner Theatre, an evening of music, entertainment and great food for all (includes meal). Overnight Calgary.
Day 5 - Calgary
Today enjoy a guided city tour that highlights some of the scenic and historic highlights of Calgary including Fort Calgary Historic Site and Canada Olympic Park, the site of the 1988 Winter Olympic Games. (Admission to the Olympic park and Fort Calgary are included). Enjoy the afternoon at your leisure to explore the area further. Overnight Calgary.
Day 6 - Calgary
Today your day is at leisure to discover this city further. Take the opportunity to visit the Calgary Tower where you can stand 525 feet above the ground on a glass floor and look straight down into the heart of the city. If time permits take time to visit the area of Kensington, Calgary's "Urban Village" with over 100 shops, restaurants and services along a pedestrian friendly loop. Overnight Calgary.
Day 7 - Calgary
Morning at leisure to explore Calgary further before continuing on with your journey.
