Aurora Borealis Viewing Tour
Begins in Fort McMurray.
The Aurora Borealis (sometimes known as the Northern Lights) is a natural phenomenon of vast showers of colour and light that dance across a dark sky. This amazing sight can be seen year round in Canada although are best viewed in fall and winter when the nights are longer. The aurora borealis appear frequently at the more northern latitudes where the colours are sharper and brighter. Each and every night you are fortunate enough to be able to see this spectacular show, you will see something different, but always spectacular!

Day 1
Arrive Fort McMurray, transfer to hotel. Enjoy a welcome dinner *, including orientation, video of optional activities, Aurora slide show, as well as instruction in Aurora photography by professional photographer. Transfer to private viewing site (15 minutes form hotel), heated building with flush toilets, hot drinks and snacks, Aurora viewing and Constellation identification with Astronomer, use of mobile telescope, hands-on assistance in photography by professional photographer, Boreal Forest information session and walk, plus other activities while waiting for the Aurora to appear. Transfer back to hotel.
Day 2 & 3
Enjoy the daytime at your leisure until the evenings (see below for add-on tour options during your free time). Later transfer to private viewing site (15 minutes form hotel), heated building with flush toilets, hot drinks and snacks, Aurora viewing and Constellation identification with Astronomer, use of mobile telescope, hands-on assistance in photography by professional photographer, Boreal Forest information session and walk, plus other activities while waiting for the Aurora to appear. Transfer back to hotel.
Day 4
In the morning depart Fort McMurray.
*Please note that the Welcome Dinner may be on either the first or second night, depending on the flight schedules. Also, the Aurora slide show may be hosted at the viewing site.
Your tour includes:
· 3 nights accommodation at the Sawridge Hotel
· Welcome Dinner
· 2 nights of Aurora Borealis watching, transfers, private viewing site, snacks and hot drinks
· Astronomer with telescope

Accommodation is based on a standard room with 2 x queen or double beds, on a bed share basis.
